This article helps you understand how to properly manage articles in the Menu Manager.
When you create an article from the Menu Manager, it is automatically added to the item library so that you can reuse it in other menus for this brand or other brands, and retrieve the information you previously saved for that article.
When you add an article to a menu, you can select an article from the item library. It is important to reuse articles across brands so that sales figures can be analyzed independently of brands if necessary.
As you create new articles, the item library may become cluttered with unused articles, which can lead to confusion about which articles to use and slow down the interface.
For example, if you had launched a limited edition product for a brand that was only available in the summer and it will not be used for a while.
In this case, you can archive a product so that it no longer appears in the item library in the Menu Manager.

The articles added to the menu can be divided into 2 categories:
Products that are only available for a single brand
Products that are shared between multiple brands and have the same operational name
For example, beverages or sides are products shared between brands that need to be linked to multiple brands.
Link a product to multiple brands
Products that are shared between multiple brands need to be linked between these brands. This ensures the consistency of data analysis and allows sales of products to be analyzed independently of brands.
To link a product to multiple brands, you need to search for the article by filtering for a brand for which this product exists, and add this article to the menu.
Once the article is added to the menu, it ensures data consistency, but modifying the properties of this article will not affect this article on other brands.
Check if a product is shared between multiple brands
You can check if a product is linked between multiple brands in the Articles
tab, directly on the brand's menu. The different brands that share this article will be visible.
Products can be either linked to a single brand, in which case only one brand logo is visible below the operational name in the item library, or linked to multiple brands, in which case several logos appear under the operational name of the article.
Case of products linked to a single brand
If a product is no longer used in any of the brand's menus and will not be used anymore, you can archive it. This means it will no longer be visible in the item library when you add a new article to the menu of that brand.
Archiving an article helps avoid interface slowdowns and makes it easier to choose articles to add to a menu.
Note that products are only archived and can be restored to appear again in the item library.

It is not possible to archive an article that is used in a menu. The menus where an article is present are displayed below the article.
Case of products linked to multiple brands
Some products that are shared between brands are linked to multiple brands at the same time, which facilitates sales figure analysis.
For example, beverages or sides are products shared between brands that need to be linked to multiple brands.
It is not possible to archive articles that are shared between brands.
If a product has been archived but needs to be used again, there is no need to create it again, it can be restored.
Restoring a product makes it visible again in the item library when you add an article to a menu.
